Movie Info

A veterinarian makes a shocking discovery upon settling in a small Missouri town in this ecological thriller that will have you thinking twice before biting into that next hamburger. It seems like everyone in the tightly knit ranching community of Host is employed by Host Tender Meats. When new doctor Eli Rudkus (Vincent Ventresca) arrives in town, he soon stumbles upon a horrific cattle infestation that threatens to become a deadly human epidemic. It seems that mutating insect larva are developing a taste for human flesh and reproducing at an alarming rate. What was at first a threat solely to local livestock soon turns into a desperate war for humanity.

Audience Reviews for Larva

Not bad for a cheaply done and very dramatic movie. The most horrendous thing was the phone ringing from finish to end

It's awful, but in a fun way. Silly monsters, crazy plot, and dumb characters. A few shocking moments, or gross ideas. It's a slow ride, and it doesn't do a whole lot to stand out from the rest, but it manages to be an exceptional low budget creature feature.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! Larva is the movie that started my obsession with awful horror movies. For that, I must give it some sort of cursory rating. At the same time, though, it's almost impossible to enjoy on any level. Like many of the movies on the Sci-Fi channel, it is taking itself a lot more seriously than it deserves, and when that happens no one has any fun. Half of the enjoyment comes from the title. LARVA.
