Movie Info

A hipster tries to sort out the relationship between love, commerce and partying in this self-described "pop art film" from writer and director Alex Munt. Goodchild (Toby Schmitz) is a writer living in Paris who is deeply devoted to alcohol and cynicism. Goodchild was born and raised in Australia, and when he gets word that his former girlfriend, now known to him as The Dead Girl (Gracie Otto), is indeed dead, he comes home for the first time in years for the funeral. While attending the memorial, Goodchild meets The Beautiful Financial Backer (Bianca Chiminello), an attractive woman intrigued by his work. The Backer is willing to pay Goodchild to write a book for her, an think piece called "The Love Enterprise" that explores how modern corporate culture has corrupted the most personal of human emotions. As Goodchild contemplates the offer, he hangs out in rock clubs, soaks up lots of booze and drugs, shares his opinions on a wide variety of subjects, and struggles to avoid actually writing anything. Adapted from the novel Life Between F--ks by Cry Bloxcome, LBF received its world premiere at the 2011 South by Southwest Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
