Audience Reviews for Le Magnifique

an aged french parody of bond that ended up trying to be more like Castle, except much worse. I'd mistakenly thought that this would be a good dvd to borrow, since we enjoyed Dujardin's two recently-released OSS 117 shows which seemed to be based on this genre, but I think there was a generational divide here between Dujardin & Belmondo. Bisset's hair & costumes were a blast from the past though ;)

French movie released in 1973, starring the stunning Jacqueline Bisset and Jean-Paul Belmondo. Francois Merlin is an espionnage-book writer. Francois Merlin is an espionnage-book writer. Le Magnifique is a slapstick spoof of B-series espionage movies and novels.Great fun, this absolutely crazy comedy is very original and unique. All the Austin Powers movies are based on this.
