Movie Info

An aging, taciturn farmer finds his predictable life unraveling after his eldest daughter announces that is getting a divorce, and that she needs his help in order to keep up payments on her house in the city. Gaby's farm has been in his family for generations. He always said that the farm should be passed down to his children, not sold. But when Gaby's daughter Marie shows up at the farm in desperate need of money, the old man longs to protect her, even though he senses she is taking advantage of him. Making the decision to sacrifice his farm for the sake of his daughter won't be an easy one for Gaby, but as a father he is prepared to do what it takes for the sake of his family, even if it means abandoning the only life he has ever known. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This decent Québécois drama has fine performances and makes good use of its locations, deserving every bit of our attention due to the delicate and intimate way that it tells us its story - even though it never takes off to become something special or memorable.
