Movie Info

The most important event in the history of mankind is happening right now. In the blink of an eye, the biblical Rapture strikes the world. Millions of people disappear without a trace. All that remains are their clothes and belongings, and in an instant, terror and chaos spread around the world. The vanishings cause unmanned vehicles to crash and burn. Planes fall from the sky. Emergency forces everywhere are devastated. Gridlock, riots and looting overrun the cities. There is no one to help or provide answers. In a moment, the entire planet is plunged into darkness.(c) Official Site

  • Not only is this an amateurish travesty combining fundamentalist Christian eschatology with disaster movie b.s., but it's plodding and tedious.

  • It should have more smoldering panic bursting into full-blown freak-outs. It should have more passion, more intensity. It should have more bees.

Nicholas Cage's acting seems to be deteriorating.

Who would have ever thought that a movie featuring Nicolas Cage could possibly become one of the worst movies of all time. Well, apparently not me, because I watched this movie with a lot of hope that my precious Nic Cage would get back upon that pedestal that once was on. But, unfortunately, this movie doesn't do that. This movie isn't just 'not good', it really sucks. It's without a doubt the worst movie in 2014, mostly because of the fact that nothing happens throughout most of its runtime. And when things finally happen, it's just followed by another half hour where nothing at all happens. This movie is incredibly boring and the story is incredibly dry. It's almost like the publishers of the book wanted this movie to be so s****y that they could not make a sequel so that the two people who actually enjoyed this movie (the director and Nicolas Cage) would go out and read the books instead. The cast is horrible and Nicolas Cage doesn't really help, because he doesn't do s**t in this entire damn movie. This is a really bad movie that no one should ever see EVER!

I liked the idea of what the movie is trying to say and show us but it seems so poorly executed. It's a shame becuse it could have been half decent but not even Nicholas Cage can deliver us all from the blandness of this.

After reading so many poor reviews I went into this film expecting it to be garbage, I don't know if it's because I was expecting it to be bad that I didn't find it too bad, It's far from a great movie but when the main plot kicks in it wasn't bad, It did take it's time getting to the story, The acting wasn't great and the effects were B-movie quality at best but I did get into the story and most films fail to do that now days, Maybe me not being religous helped as all the god talk went in one ear and out the other, It's no way a good movie but there are plenty of worse ones out there.
