Movie Info

A modern-day Joan of Arc takes to the road in this unusual teen story. Helen Slater stars as Billy Jean Davy, the pretty older sister of the mischievous Binx (Christian Slater). When Binx's beloved motor-scooter gets trashed by the spoiled son of a local shop owner, Billy Jean demands payment for the damage. Smarmy shop owner Pyatt (Richard Bradford) agrees, only to lure Billy Jean to an upstairs room where he attempts to rape her. Injuring Pyatt, the brother- and sister-duo go on the run with some trailer-park friends, cutting across Texas while making a name for themselves as local heroes. Implausible at every turn, the film is memorable though for Helen Slater's spunky performance.

Critic Reviews for The Legend of Billie Jean

All Critics (9)

The Legend of Billie Jean does remain interesting and entertaining throughout its run, even if it is a bit short on plot and a lot short on realism.

Has a straight faced camp about itself that makes it a blast from the past worth sitting through

Cinema Crazed

Em seu esforço risível para criar um ícone de independência, rebeldia e juventude, o filme soa apenas incrivelmente absurdo, artificial e patético, mesmo que Helen Slater seja uma protagonista obviamente sedutora.

Above average teen melodrama

A memorable movie with some fine performances

Strident, borderline campy drama, complete with a raging Pat Benatar theme song

Audience Reviews for The Legend of Billie Jean

I loved this movie, Helen Slater is fantastic as the strong young woman trying to get justice. This is a great adventure, it's a teen road movie and crime drama sort of movie. I love it and I highly recommend it.

Enjoyable little 80's rebel yell, despite what the critics (and most everyone) said.
