Significantly weaker than its predecessor, the Legend of Zorro tried to show the strain being a hero to the people has on the hero's family. They clearly went into it with the best of intentions and tried to show the audience a "family element" to Zorro that hadn't ever really been explored before, and unfortunately it didn't work quite so well. I suppose it's a fun watch, but it's nowhere as good as the first movie was. It was a bit disappointing.
First Time I Was Enlightened To The Virtues Of Catherine & Her Striking Looks...She Most Certainly Steals The Show. The Story Ain't Bad & As A Stand-Alone Bit Its A Good Movie...The Original Series Had A Buzz All Its Own That a This Doesn't Live Up To.
Just about everything is toned down from the first film; the fun, the charm, the excitement. The action is very minimal and there isn't much to feel from the characters. The film is still rather entertaining though, amidst the slow-moving parts at least.
The best thing I can say about this film is that it is a waste of electricity. The worst is that it panders to (and reflects) the worst American Conservative drivel which is dangerous and just plain stupid.
