Movie Info

An older woman uses a younger woman to satisfy both his personal and professional needs in this offbeat sex comedy. Clara (Brigitte Bardot) is beautiful young woman who has been hired by Jerome (Maurice Ronet), a middle-aged novelist, to work as his secretary and take dictation. However, Jerome has been suffering from a severe case of writer's block, and what he needs most at this point is inspiration. Clara's beauty fires his imagination, if not necessarily for literary matters, and as he dictates to her, he shares stories of his sensual past and fantasies of his future. Through his words and actions, Jerome seduces Clara, though it seems obvious this as much her doing as his; however, while Jerome is strictly the "love 'em and leave 'em" type, Clara has a more stable relationship in mind. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

A case of style over substance, and that's not even mentioning the blatant sexism.

I watched "Les Femmes" throughout the course of the day. A killing from my last trip to VTG. It was alright. The use of flashbacks. Lots of beautiful women. Brigitte Bardot, of course. Just an ok movie. Pretty predictable. Then I popped in "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind". After having a bottle and a half of wine, I knew I wasn't going to make it so I just watched Sam Rockwell's screen test (a special feature on the DVD)...let's just add him to the list of celebrities that I wouldn't mind doing. Maybe just celebrities with qualities that I wouldn't mind recognizing in regular, everyday kinda guys. I've been infatuated with him ever since I saw him in "A Midsummer Night's Dream"...you know, the one with Calista Flockhart and Sophie Marceau, and Rupert Everet. Great flick. Anyway...in the screen test he does some dancing. It's almost like Beck has come alive in this guy. I can see some resemblence just in their statures. Anyway, I totally think I would have a chance if I ever met him, that's all I'm saying. Maybe that's the wine talking. I'm adding him to my list of "sexiest celebs" or whatever silly category they have. That's it...for at least the next few minutes. I can't even type straight. I need to go. Laters. Emily the Kid
