The acting in this moving film is great, showing how both main characters grow from this intense experience.

This book and movie was a required read for my English class. It was a great homework assignment. Thank Mrs. Simonelli. The actors did a great job!! God thank you for where you've brought us from!!

This is one of those movies that leaves you feeling sad and depressed.....but, are important to watch, so that history does not repeat itself and we move forward instead of back.....excellent story and cast!

Great book made into a good movie. It's the story of a young man named Jefferson who has been convicted of a murder he did not commit and a school teache Mr Wiggins road to redemption.

MUY CRUEL PERO CIERTAMENTE ESAS COSAS PUEDEN PASAR ... GRACIAS A DIOS SON OTROS TIEMPOS.. AUNQUE LA DESCRIMINACION RACIAL AUN EXISTE QUE PENA CON ESO... PERO EN LA LUCHA... LA DIGNIDAD DE SER HOMBRE NO SE CAMBIA POR NADA

A great movie about how people can make the best of some bad situations. A young Don Cheadle is very good in this film!

The movie is like a bird with a broken wing. It has so much potential to sour but can never get off its feet.
Don Cheadle talents aren't full realized, as in Hotel Rawanda. It's a dry and boring movie that crawls all the way to the last twenty minutes.

a great movie about redemption.

The book is better. This is a worthy attempt at making a successful adaption of the great Novel by the same title. The performances are pretty good, and the cinematography is well done. The overall idea is pretty depressing, but that's what this movie is, depressing. Also, uplifting at the same time? I wasn't necessarily impressed or appalled by the end of this film. I wouldn't recommend it

Story of racism in the 40's. A black man is in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets the death penalty for murder. A black school teacher visits him daily and convinces him to die like a man with dignity no matter what names or how the whites treat him. This movie was ok but the ending was very weak, but worth a watch.

The subject matter was compelling but the movie lacked a certain je ne sais quois.

The storyline is a very worthy one to tell and there was no problem with the acting abilities, but to me this film should have been more powerful to make the message and heart of the film come across better

haven't seen this movie but will in the future....some black men are wrongly accused...

This is a sad movie that is very well done. It is beautifully filmed and all of the main characters are very well acted. You expect that from Don Cheadle, but I was especially impressed by Irma Hall who played the grandmother who had raised the young man awaiting the death sentence. Her tenacity in reaction to his being characterized as a "hog" by his public defender is amazing and wonderfully portrayed by Ms. Hall.

Dignity from beginning to end.

Amazing film with deeply moving story. Don Cheadle does a wonderful job as the teacher try to reach a student. If you see this movie and are untouched get your heart checked because your dead.

Film qui semble passé inaperçu et pourtant, il mérite à être connu. Un magnifique film sur le combat des noirs sud américains.
