Critic Reviews for Let Her Out

All Critics (5)

  • Let Her Out is a beautiful and disturbing film. The contrasting muted and neon palette combined with sweeping views of Toronto's cityscape creates a clean backdrop for some seriously gross-out gore.

  • If this had just been a short consisting of the last 15 minutes of the film, I would have loved it. Unfortunately this was a feature length film riddled with plot holes, bumps and bends in the story that were nonsensical, and no real substance.

  • Let Her Out is let down slightly by a run of the mill script, some uninspired technical decisions and a host of bland secondary characters, but it is worth a look for its paranoid tone and Alanna LeVierge's show-stopping, go-for-broke lead performance.

  • Some of the dialogue is a bit hamfisted and the narrative almost derailed by a few plot holes. Despite these quibbles, Let Her Out is a good night at the movies with scares aplenty and a cinematic style that pay off in spades.

  • a hallucinatory trip through a woman's split sense of identity - with the red light that illuminates Helen's bedroom suggestive as much of her mother's whorish past as of her own arrested self.
