One complaint you cannot level at Limitless is that it is unoriginal or uncreative. In an upcoming summer of senseless sequels and repugnant remakes, Limitless-warts and all-is at least something we've never seen before.
Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes, Kurt Russel, 1965 or so. Just for starters. Not a pill, but wire crossed computer, but same exact results, sort of CWWTS crossed with a Brett Easton Ellis novel . And why didnt he use his brain power for something like figuring out how to make more brain pills that wouldn't harm the ingestor, or cure cancer, or maybe create world peace? And starvation? Instead he goes the mundane route of the stock market and when he makes 2 mill in a few days, kowtows to a Wall Street big dog...for what reason? He could have made it without help as long as he had the pills. Inane. I also roll my eyes every time Hollywood throws in gratuitously the name of a book or idea the writer read an article about and thinks will make the script sound intelligent, in this case The Elegant Universe.
