Overly sentimental, but a fine showcase for young Judy Garland (in her first "starring" role); she sings "It's a Great Day for the Irish" and "Singin' in the Rain," among other songs.

I enjoyed this film very much. Judy Garland looks lovely as always and she sings "Singing in the rain" for the first time ever which is a classic. FYI I cried with this one.

Little Nellie Kelly is a cute film. The music is also fun to listen to. Judy Garland and George Murphy give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written and witty. Norman Taurog did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed this motion picture because of the comedy and remarkable characters.

Minor but very sweet Judy Garland film, and certainly one of her least known movies. It?s delightful, good songs and a simple but entertaining story. Charles Winninger is great in a supporting role. Decent but obviously not a amply budgeted production, but that adds to the films charm.

Judy is lovely here, perhaps looking her best ever, but the film is extremely hoky but if you love Judy its worth a viewing.

Judy does double duty her and does it well. Murphy is nice and Winninger's character is just plain selfishly annoying.

This movie was a transitional role for Judy Garland from child star to adult star. There are some memorable musical numbers, and Judy Garland is charming as always, but the ending was very unsatisfying! Especially when you consider that it could have been a powerful storyline, if it had been executed properly.
