When Earth falls under attack from invincible aliens, no military unit in the world is able to beat them. Maj. William Cage (Tom Cruise), an officer who has never seen combat, is assigned to a suicide mission. Killed within moments, Cage finds himself thrown into a time loop, in which he relives the same brutal fight -- and his death -- over and over again. However, Cage's fighting skills improve with each encore, bringing him and a comrade (Emily Blunt) ever closer to defeating the aliens.

The action scenes are exciting and look amazing, keeping you glued to the screen. The time loop idea is smart and adds a lot of interest to the story. It's cool to watch Cage's character learn and improve each day, getting closer to stopping the aliens. Plus, the chemistry between Cruise and Blunt is great, making their partnership even more enjoyable.

Edge of tomorrow is a fantastic must see Action/Sci-fi movie. It has war, romance, military, guns, bad guys, realistic fiction, and hope. When a man becomes aware of his new found gift he attempts to alter the future for all of mankind. Yet, it is easy thought then said. While in pursuit he becomes entangled with a new found friend which makes his mission difficult to attain. While fighting the good fight he comes to find out, if you want something done you have to do it yourself.

This movie is funny, action packed, with a fantastic story. It is also nice to see Tom Cruise evolve from a scared sheep character into a brave soldier. His character development through the film is slightly underrated. Besides a slightly predictable third act, I truly believe this movie has no weakness.

One of the best sci-fi films ever made and one Cruise's best films. The way his character progressively learns and adapts to his situation after re-living day after day after day was very well done. The cadence in the story telling for something like this is so crucial and it was executed perfectly. Also, the relationship between Cruise's character and Emily Blunt's character could have been handled poorly and changed the dynamic of the story, but it wasn't and ends up being just enough so that you end up wanting more for them. There is never a dull moment in the entire story and the ending picks just the right place to land. One of only a handful or films I can sit and watch again, regardless of where I happen to catch it the story line.
