Critic Reviews for The Last Days
A high-profile Spanish project that's uneven on every level except technique, the watchable but forgettable "The Last Days" finds helmers Alex and David Pastor failing to deliver on the promise of their 2009 English-language debut, "Carriers."
although it's about ten minutes too long, The Last Days is a moving, often thrilling piece of end of the world cinema that has a little too much treacle.
This Spanish production tackles a familiar subject -- the post apocalyptic world -- and imbues it not only with a fresh premise but also with real heart and character.
This is the final message the film leaves us with, that even when living a perpetual nightmare trapped in a crumbling city of a decaying world, there is always still hope.
Audience Reviews for The Last Days
Bonus points for coming up with a unique and clever - if somewhat questionable - apocalyptic scenario, and extra bonus points for avoiding the usual cliches that come with an apocalyptic film. The first act lacks direction, but once the story is rolling we end up with a pleasant and ultimately very fulfilling and optimistic tale. Well worth watching.
a nicely done movie that is set in a post apocalyptic world after a disease takes over everyone that you can't go outside. I enjoyed this a lot and found it tense, exciting and by the end your pushing for something good to happen. definitely a suggested watch.
Its got a sudo original plot and is shot well, just kinda falls in the wayside of "Heres this great world that were not really gonna do much with"
