Movie Info

MGM's silent version of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina differs substantially from the book in that it possesses a happy ending for the heroine. Though it starred Hollywood's most popular onscreen couple Greta Garbo and John Gilbert, it is not considered one of the best versions of the great novel.

Audience Reviews for Love (Anna Karenina)

Love is the first version of Anna Karenina that Garbo made (it really was the part she was born to play). In this modernized version she costars with real life love John Gilbert. Their chemistry is hard to top. They just sizzled on screen together.
