Movie Info

Former lovers Jimmy and Cherie discover that getting over each other isn't as easy as they thought in this sequel to the romantic comedy Love in a Puff. Six months after their whirlwind romance, Jimmy and Cherie are ready to move on. For Jimmy, that means moving to Beijing for a new career opportunity. As Jimmy begins dating pretty flight attendant Shang You-you, Cherie arrives in Beijing to open a new business and catches the eye of Malaysian Chinese I.T. specialist Sam. But after communicating in a series of texts, Jimmy and Cherie reconnect. Despite feeling that the spark is still there, however, their differences are still as pronounced as ever. As their current significant others begin to sense that something isn't right, Jimmy and Cherie can't help but feeling like maybe they were too quick to call it quits, and that perhaps there's still hope for a future together. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

While it's not a game-changer, writer-director Ho-Cheung Pang's sharp rom-com, Love in the Buff, is a realistic portrayal of modern love in all its complexity and pain.

A romantic comedy that is as interesting for its glimpse into contemporary urban China as it is for the charisma of its leads.

Unlikely to resonate with Western audiences, who have more than enough sentimental English-language romantic comedies to keep themselves occupied.

A refreshingly authentic romantic comedy about the tradeoffs people must make in their relationships, careers and lifestyles.

Modern love shifts from Hong Kong to Beijing in the successful sequel to Love in a Puff, a natural, light and convincing rom com very similar to the original Hong Kong hit.

Buff gels into a surprisingly moving look at the machinations of the heart.

Audience Reviews for Love in the Buff

an odd choice for the director of Dream Home ( a gory slasher ) but still a very funny international film.

Perhaps the prequel is just super. No matter how flawless this flick has tried to dilute the "Mainland-flavors" inside, it still looks so uncomfortable if compared to the true-localized last one; in addition to its corny love quadrilateral story.
