Movie Info

Part Two of the made-for-TV Love, Lies and Murder continues probing the 1985 murder of California housewife Linda Brown. Linda's stepdaughter (Moira Kelly) has already confessed to the crime, and the authorities are satisfied. But after the dead woman's husband (Clancy Brown) marries Linda's teenage sister (Sheryl Lee), it becomes apparent that the stepdaughter was coerced into confessing by her manipulative father. During the subsequent court trial, the father's labyrinthine scheme to pin the murder on his stepdaughter slowly unravels--thanks to the efforts of his new wife, who has also been cruelly manipulated. Originally telecast in February of 1991, Love, Lies and Murder was based on a true story.

I don't know if it's because it's an "older" movie, but I had a hard time getting through this. The awfully dramatic background music, the poor acting, the length of the movie...I think it could have been done better.

Based on a true story about a man who convinces his sister-in-law and daughter to help kill his wife. David Brown, a man who the judge deems is worse than Charles Manson, is convincingly and frighteningly played by Clancy Brown. The movie runs about 4 hours, but it starts with a bang, literally, and continues strong to the finish line.
