There are some breathtaking "oners," scenes that are all in one long take, which make Castle’s experiences extremely tense and intense. Director/co-screenwriter Rod Lurie has an eye for telling details. Go to Full Review

'Lucky Strike' falls apart at many key moments, revealing narrative flaws Lurie planted (or failed to plant) much, much earlier in the film. Go to Full Review

This effort about a soldier desperately trying to survive behind enemy lines never overcomes its oppressive air of familiarity, suffering in comparison to too many war films in recent years Go to Full Review

The edge of the seat we should be pushed to feels too safe and far away, which flies in the face of the bold R-rated danger that marches through Lucky Strike. Go to Full Review

While it covers familiar territory, "Lucky Strike" is a mostly effective tale of survival, heroism and the hellish nature of war. Go to Full Review

Owen 5h It’s was not interesting See more Steven L. @Astrosota9 5h The film was captivating. Scott Eastwood's portrayal of Captain Castle was engaging throughout the film. See more Alex B. @Alex201 6h This is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. See more JP S @RT95747650 9h This was a hard watch, as someone who enjoys anything WW2 history I was excited to see this and I almost left halfway through. The props/costume design/etc was all on point. Sadly the acting felt like high school theater for some characters and unfortunately one of those was the main actor. I could let that slide but a lot of the scenes didn't make sense starting from the 1st scene where a wounded US soldier shoots a german in the back as he's walking away and rather than returning fire, the other germans assumed the US soldier was dead because he laid his head back down. One scene a german goes into the next room over, the hero then proceeds to kill his buddy with a flamethrower and the German in the tank outside with a grenade, yet the guy never comes back. Another scene a group of germans in a SDK vehicle are getting shot at by the only person still alive, hero with a sniper rifle, after returning some suppressive fire, both sides just go on their merry way as if nothing happened.
