And I then ask you, if I don't believe in the characters, their romance, their conflicts, and find the entire film predictable, what is left?

... it's not Pretty Woman - she's not a hooker, she's Puerto Rican!

It's badly acted, blandly directed, and could have been scripted by someone who just graduated from elementary school.

This piece of fluff is nothing more than a wanna-be "Pretty Woman." Pass, please.

Maid In Manhattan ultimately leaves nothing whatsoever for the viewer to grasp. . .leaving another dead carcass of Hollywood convention packed away and frozen for reheating by audiences who can find nothing else in the cupboard to eat.

What's here will satisfy fans of the leads but without laughs and little romance -- this doesn't exactly fit the mold of solid entertainment in this genre.

Factory-made romantic comedy without an ounce of creativity or a shred of unpredictability.

Lopez doesn't do anything out of the ordinary. In fact, it looks like she may have simply cloned the same expressions she put on in her other successful romantic comedy, The Wedding Planner.

So pick up a dust rag and tidy up your room -- you'll have more of an engaging experience than being subject to this baseless, breezy hokum.

The usual cookie cutter romantic comedy material you'd expect from Meg Ryan or Julia Roberts.

...turns so unforgivably trite in its last 10 minutes that anyone without a fortified sweet tooth will likely go into sugar shock.

Anyone who wants to start writing screenplays can just follow the same blueprint from hundreds of other films, sell it to the highest bidder and walk away without anyone truly knowing your identity.

This is the stuff of bread and circuses, a feel-good movie to surprise no one and yet give all us working-class saps a sliver of hope.

'Carente de imaginación, mal dirigida, peor actuada y sin un ápice de romance, es una verdadera pérdida de tiempo y dinero'

Funcionando (ainda que rasteiramente) como um romancezinho água-com-açúcar, Encontro de Amor pode até ser um passatempo inofensivo, mas certamente você encontrará opções melhores em sua locadora.
