Sometimes you don't want too much out of your comedy. You just want to laugh. You don't want to think. With his first Netflix special, Marlon Wayans: Woke-ish, Wayans accomplishes the former while almost forcing you into the latter. Go to Full Review

10/13/2020 Best stand up comedy I've seen in a long time. See more 05/03/2019 Amazing sooooooo funny!!!!! See more 03/12/2018 He is so funny, sometimes it was too explicit but it depends on the taste. I love him. See more 03/04/2018 Woke-ish can be summed up as the delivery of soul crushing transphobia and homophobia wrapped in a blanket of carefully crafted deniable plausibility and deflection. It was like listening to a bully who figured out how to bully without getting detention. This is one of the comedy specials that will be doubly embarrassing to watch years from now. Wayan's special is an example of how hate speech has evolved into something more insidious at its core with a candy coating of "hey I'm black, have kids, and one kid might be gay" to make it all more palatable and acceptable for heterosexual people to feel good about laughing at. In Wayan's routine, when his daughter tells him she might be homosexual, he describes the great lengths he took to convince her to "try a d**k". Perhaps he should try one himself just to be sure he's heterosexual because anyone who has that much of an issue with homosexuality has just that - issues. See more 03/02/2018 It was funny up until his transphobic jokes about Caitlyn Jenner. Turned it off at that point. Come on Netflix!!! See more 03/02/2018 Started out slow, but I was laughing fairly often by the midway point. Not too political. The racial jokes weren't too offensive. Lots of F- Bombs, B-Bombs, and N-Bombs but still funny despite all that. See more Read all reviews
