Director Aleksi Makela collaborates with screenwriter Marko Leino for this fast and loose look at the life of volatile gold medal skier Matti Nykanen (Jasper Paakkonen). A kindhearted athlete at heart, Finnish skier Nykanen has one Achilles Heel: whenever he's had his fill of liquor and his manhood is challenged, the skilled sportsman can never back down from a challenge. Though his protective mentor Coach (Juha Veijonen) does his best to keep Nykanen on the straight and narrow, the skier just can't seem to resist getting into trouble with bad news best friend Nikke (Peter Franzen). As Nykanen's lack of self-control gradually sets his marriage to the beautiful Taina (Elina Hietala) careening down the path to disaster, scheming pal Nikke sets out to exploit the fame of his high-profile friend by having the skier sing lead vocals in a hastily-assembled pop band.
