With the cheesy effects and cartoony soundtrack, the film feels like an overgrown episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Jackie Chan fans have, of late, been reduced to panning for gold nuggets in the increasingly muddy river that has been his post-Hong Kong Hollywood career. The Medallion, his latest, is just that -- a lot more mud than gold.

The Medallion is an honest machine for making money, a meritorious entrepreneurial model.

Amateurish effects, frenetic camerawork and ridiculous villains prevent Chan's Medallion from emanating true cinematic shine.

Chan has resorted to the use of two things I thought I'd never see in association with him: CGI and a stunt-man. And those elements are all that's needed to make this movie seem like every other low-budget, run-of -the-mill action film out there.

Did I miss a meeting or wasn't one of the great things about Jackie Chan that he didn't need any special effects?

Does everything it can to screw up such a simple path to success.

Another Jackie Chan "search for the great whatsit" action film that's as agreeable as it is disposable.

The action bits are few and far between; the non-action bits are omnipresent and interminable. May be a solid flick for 10-year-olds, but even they'll be yawning through the nonsensical narrative.

Jackie Chan doesn't know the meaning of the word 'fear.' His writers don't know the meaning of the word 'original.'

A hackneyed, mediocre offering with little to remind fans of why they like Jackie.

You'd either have to be hard up for a Jackie Chan fix or have seen everything else at the Cineplex to purchase a ticket and spend time with this disappointing effort.

The tone of it swings madly back and forth, tripping wildly over pointless scenes.

...another generic and labored Jackie Chan action comedy that has no real kinetic kick to its nutty conception...this Medallion shouldn't be worn proudly around Chan's neck

Probably the worst Jackie Chan vehicle to come around in his career...
