This production's crew has done cultural appropriation by allowing a hearing person to steal a role of a Deaf character who uses American Sign Language. No different than giving the role to a white actress for a colored character. This is unacceptable, sickening and the movie itself has shot its own feet when the production crew refused to hire a Deaf actress with an excuse saying that we must give it a watch before we can criticize the movie but the problem is that from the very beginning they insulted the Deaf community. There are several Deaf actresses who would fit in that character prefectly. The best way to find a Deaf actress or actor is by checking out the Deaf Talent. They have experiences in broadway, one of them won a oscar, one of them is on the way to win a tony award and the list goes on. It is unacceptable, just as it would be if the role were given to a white actor for a colored character. If you have a respect for the Deaf community, please avoid this movie at all cost and do not give this movie any attention as it does not deserve so.

    Hauntingly beautiful and painful.
