Audience Reviews for Meet The Mobsters

Of Larry Blamire's films, this is definitely his worst work. It has a funny premise, but it is really a funny premise for a short film. It is a comedy, but the timing is off. Sometimes its funny, but mostly it either slowly paced or annoying. The cast just doesn't sell it. The casts of his retro-parody works always sold the premise, no matter what the overall tone was, they always sold it. The idea of mobsters getting their hit orders through terrible songs is decent, but the songs aren't funny, the jokes don't land, and the feel is all off.

The comedian Red Peters was the only character in the movie who was really funny; he was something of a cleaner Andrew Dice Clay. The main character was so obnoxious that I just didn't care for him. And the story, to a point, didn't make sense what with the songs that the main character was singing and the way in which he was able to get away with singing some of them. I'm glad I saw it on Flixter. Even cable wouldn't be to bad, but paying to rent or see this movie in the theater would have been a waste of everything.
