He's a sideways humour guy, not blunt or shouty. What Che's special, made in 2016, is about is his call for "honesty." Go to Full Review

While not consistently fresh (bits on giving money to the homeless and Jesus being white feel familiar) or laugh-a-minute hysterical, the special is intriguing in its demand for more honesty. Go to Full Review

Even when some material isn't as strong-his biblical jokes run too long without being particularly original-Che can work a crowd. Go to Full Review

A recording over the opening credits implores Che to make his special special... it imparts the impression that you really are spending "One Night Only" with Che in an exclusive occasion. Go to Full Review

yash b @yashbansal 01/11/2020 I thought "Michael Che Matters" was consistently smart and hilarious. This standup special is a lot of fun and covers a wide variety of social topics. I thought most of the jokes in the first half and the last bit were the best, while some in some of the middle portions the jokes weren't as hard-hitting. Nonetheless, I enjoyed Che's delivery and would definitely very much like him to do more stand up specials like this one. He's one of those rare talents that is great on late-night TV but also packs a punch when performing standup. See more Read all reviews
