Dale S @FreeDee Mar 14 I loved this film for so many reasons - the sumptuous cinematography, the characters that populated the town, the sense of foreboding, the gripping story line and the chemistry between the two main actors. The interactions between the two men did seem more erotic than parental. I assume we are in Australia. A woman who would drink two whole bottles of wine by herself without eating much would be unconscious and not just drunk. Women lack an enzyme in the lining of the stomach that breaks down alcohol and thus develop much higher blood levels drinking the same amount. That’s why alcohol allowances for women are lower than men. Finally, getting drunk for days in a row around the time of conception could have serious effects.
