Blamed for a terrorist attack on the Kremlin, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the entire IMF agency are disavowed by the U.S. government, while the president initiates the Ghost Protocol. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is, in a word, awesome. Better than that, it is the first film in Tom Cruise's TV-to-feature series that I have enjoyed start to finish, beginning to end and for every single moment of its two hour-plus running time.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is a thrilling, high-energy action film that stands out as one of the best entries in the franchise. It perfectly balances intense spy storytelling with jaw-dropping set pieces and a strong sense of fun. Tom Cruise once again proves why Ethan Hunt is such an iconic action hero, delivering a committed and physically demanding performance. The Burj Khalifa sequence is an absolute highlight—suspenseful, breathtaking, and unforgettable. The rest of the team, especially Simon Pegg’s Benji, adds humor and personality that helps balance the tension. Brad Bird’s direction brings a fresh, cinematic style to the series, with clear action and great pacing throughout. Every mission feels urgent and well-crafted, keeping the momentum strong from start to finish. Overall, it’s a smart, exciting, and highly rewatchable action film. A near-perfect spy thriller and easily a 9/10.

Tom Cruise climbing the Burj Khalifa is one of the greatest things in movie history. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is my personal favorite entry in the franchise. It's not necessarily the best. Kurt Hendricks is a weak sauce villain with a generic evil plan and I think the movie as a whole loses momentum after everything in Dubai. But, I just love the chemistry between this team and there's so many cool scenes. The Kremlin infiltration and opening prison escape are awesome.

Most of this one felt a bit more forgettable compared to MIP3, but similar to that one, this felt very structured and consistent. Very good highs, but pretty forgettable lows.

Ghost Protocol has gonna be one of the most underrated Mission Impossible movies I have ever watched. And besides, it’s from the guy who directed The Iron Giant, The Incredibles and Ratatouille, so yeah that’s a win. 👍
