This is an unimaginatively faithful remake that leaves the original intact, complete with songs co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. But the replacement of animated beings with live actors manages to ramp up the folkloric kitsch considerably. Go to Full Review

Watching them sail across the sea and deliver the heart of Te Fiti is an amazing odyssey. Watching their live-action counterparts run it back is a slog. Go to Full Review

Perhaps the new “Moana” isn’t exactly the same as its predecessor. It’s a fair bit worse, for one thing. Go to Full Review

You should rather watch the actual real, amazing animated movie, than this soulless cash grab, but kids should enjoy if there's nothing else to see. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

It’s a weary bit of fun that will probably end up buried by the better movie that came before it. Go to Full Review

A faithful adaptation with familiar plot, music, and dialogue, but the result feels stale and dull despite touching moments and a talented cast. Go to Full Review

Robert C 24m It works, but performances were average and nothing special, including Dwayne Johnson's performance, which did seem dated and old. Special effects are great though. Unless you are a diehard Moana fan, I'd wait until it hits Disney + to see it. See more Kristin 5h I loved it so much. You should see it even if critics tell you not to. See more Byanca 6h It’s a okay but cool make a sleep bored little See more Robert 7h Great experience. Easy to navigate with a 3 year old See more blake g 9h It’s not bad. The music is still great. But it’s not better than the animated movie. My son loved it still. See more Mason 9h Enjoyable but it not replacing the original animation film for me See more Read all reviews
