It was very good and posed a question about traditional young women's expected life style's in the 1950s but the movie also ended on an unresolved note for most characters which always makes tend to feel bittersweet about movies in general

Mona Lisa Smile is an excellent film. It is about a free-thinking art professor who teaches conservative 1950s Wellesley girls to question their traditional social roles. Julia Roberts and Kirsten Dunst give amazing performances. The script is well written. Mike Newell did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama. Mona Lisa Smile is a must see.

Is it safe? Yes. Is it groundbreaking? No. But it is a beautiful story of feminism. It demonstrates color and character in its story and is an all-around heartwarming film to watch. I, personally, enjoyed watching it so much.

It was cute, entertaining and a little surprising. Good performances, just a simple watch.

beautifully acted, witty and... a true gift for women who forget what they can do.

Kind of a female "Dead Poet's Society", but with a lot more lies and catty fighting.
I almost wish they focused more on the art in this film, but the "housewife factory" aspect was quite interesting as a replacement.

Great cast, poor screenplay.

This wannabe female Dead Poets Society falls short in many ways.

This is a wonderful movie that inspires and re-tells the classic "don't judge a book by it's cover." Highly recommended!

A climaxless film with climactic materials.

One of my favorites. The dang last scene gets me every time.

Julia roberts carry the weight of this nice story on her beautiful shoulders. whoelse in the cinema has such a recognizable smile? She was born to play this character (probably written for her in the first place). The filmis nicely directed and the reconstitution of the era well done. It's a good film, fair and square.

Great performances by the cast with an actually interesting story about feminism.

An Historically Interesting Look At An Era Of Change For Women. Filmed On The Original Location Depicted In The Narrative, It Was Okay But Just Lost In The Delivery For Me. Bit Boring To Honest, Surprising With Such A Big-Name Cast List.

Julia Roberts must have a magic wand, for she always manage be loved and unsullied, even in an underwritten role. Supported by a big group of A list cast, the movie is a female version of "To sir with love", only with a less obvious agenda. It's a pity that several plots were brushed superficially, making the stew a little diluted.

Inspiring message.
Slow but acceptable pace.

Under-rated film.

Beautiful movie. Empowering story played with conviction by Julia Roberts, with a superb supporting cast. Enlightenment through example and inspiration. Every girl should be so lucky to have a powerful and positive influence.
