Feb 13, 2013A mad scientist injects a concert pianist with an acromegaly virus (!) to pressure the virtuoso's daughter to marry him. Dull at first, but the ELEPHANT MAN-style makeup and an inexplicable gorilla salvage some small amount of entertainment value in the late reels.
-
May 30, 2012The fantastic performances of J. Carrol Naish and Ralph Morgan make this decent but kinda bland B-movie worthwhile. Although the really fake-looking ape suit is a real hoot.
-
Nov 15, 2010Exceedingly dull. I almost could not sit through the whole thing. Another uberlow-budget PRC production. The script often makes no sense. The deformity caused by the fake acromegaly disease looks something like Christopher Tucker's makeup from The Elephant Man. Naish's evil doctor character is compared to Frankenstein and thinks the pianist character's daughter is a reincarnation of a past love. Why Mr. Lawrence, the pianist, doesn't listen to his daughter and have the authorities lock up the creep much earlier is a mystery.

Sep 05, 2010A mad scientist goes around making people he doesn't like into monsters, he loves a girl and makes her father sick so he can be near her. Gee, I wonder why she doesn't love you? This is a stupid movie.
