A lot of the material is rehashed from the 1970's, but it's an interesting enough live performance of it.
Monty python doesn't translate to the live stage well, that is the conclusion that can be drawn here. A very direct comparison can be made between this movie and now for something completely different because almost all of the set pieces from now for something completely different are performed in Hollywood bowl live, but not to great success.
Monty Python's Greatest Bits!
Highlights include albatross and the argument sketches.
A perfect display of pure Python. Hysterical!
This was standup at its best. Imagine seeing MP live! And this has some epic skits.... like the Last Supper...
Very funny, but is best for hardcore Monty Python fans.
Good sketch gig of the six Python's doing what they did best - being wacky & absurd! It works better as a film, as you can tell as lot of the sketches would take a bit to clean off the stage & re-set it up! Not as great as any of the films, although almost as good as 'And Now for Something Completely Different'. Best sketch: trying to out-do each other with how poor/hard-done-by they were growing up!
Splendid live run through of old faithful material with some great new stuff - Albatross anyone?
