Movie Info
Now in her 80s, Susie Parkington (Greer Garson) recalls her marriage six decades earlier, which was followed by the revelation that her husband, Augustus (Walter Pidgeon), was still romantically entangled with French Baroness Aspasia Conti (Agnes Moorehead). She also looks back on the untimely passing of her mother and one of her children, two of the defining events of her life. And with her adult son needing a cash infusion to save his skin, she ponders the fate of her fortune.

Jan 13, 2014Greer Garson aged herself for this film and was aged in terms of her own acting career. I don't think the performance was anything to write home about and I suspect her Oscar nomination was a give away to a loyal performer.

Aug 19, 2010Stately drama that's best for fans of the Garson/Pidgeon pairings. Agnes Moorehead is a pleasure in an atypical role as a chic sophisticate. Enjoyable enough but one of those pictures that really would have benefitted from being filmed in color.
