Movie Info

In an off-beat melodrama set in the 1920s, when Japan occupied Korea, a young and attractive woman is forced to prostitute herself in order to survive. Hy-op is married but her husband is often away from home on business trips and she does not have the means to buy rice and other food. As a result, she starts to sleep with the village men who give her necessities in exchange for her sexual favors. It's bad enough that she suffers the animosity of the village women, but when she refuses to sleep with one of the men he makes things even worse for her. Now the women go after her with a vengeance and there seems to be no way out of her dilemma.
