A lifetime of bitterness and resentment begins to rise to the surface for an elderly couple in this drama from Bosnia. An aging man (Vjekoslav Ramljak) and his wife (Zagorka Borota) share an apartment in Sarajevo, where for years they followed the same daily routine -- coffee, card games, television, sleep. However, the husband has recently suffered from a stroke, which has left him partially incapacitated and newly dependant on his wife. She sees this situation as an opportunity to make some changes in their lives, which she sees as her just reward after enduring many years of mental (and sometimes physical) abuse. But his mind is as strong and defiant as ever regardless of the state of his body, and their days turn into a duel between two equally determined opponents locked in a life and death struggle for superiority. Mama I Tata (aka Mum 'n' Dad) was the first feature from writer and director Faruk Loncarevic.
