Not terribly in-depth, My Generation is more about nostalgia for the '60s, rather than the detail... Still, it's well put together and an easy watch.

Most of My Generation is engagingly told and Caine is a charming host but it often feels more like the nostalgic musings for a long ago time than insightful commentary.

It's impossible to shake the feeling that although he had access to a treasure trove of talent, archival footage, and decades of historical context, Betty seemed content to cram all of this into a cookie-cutter mould.

A rampant and racy portrait of a time full of opportunity and hope.

The documentary uses as backdrop all the tried and tested Sixties pop songs, but there was so much more. Where did it all go wrong, he says, and My Generation is still a good start in trying to find out.

Archival footage brings the time to life; Mick Jagger is mobbed coming out of court, Twiggy poses and partys, rebellion, protests, ands pop mosaic like nothing heard before. Present day interviews shed light on what the kids accomplished.

My Generation isn't anything terribly original, controversial, or groundbreaking, but taken on its own modest, montage based terms, it's still a charming and entertaining bit of pop culture history.

Actor Michael Caine's rose-coloured look at 1960s London enjoyably highlights class divides, changing of the guard and very righteous threads.

My Generation is a charming little diversion.

The film wisely resists the standard documentary technique of stringing together a series of talking heads - no small temptation, given the famous people rounded up for reminiscing.

It may feel rather gimmicky, but it's packed with entertaining surprises.

It's a glorious ode to the pop culture revolution.

It's a familiar but culturally important story that just needed a stronger editorial line to give it real heft. Great fun, though.

As a colourful, smoothly edited nostalgia trip, it's fine; perhaps there'll be more depth in the planned television series.

Park your brain and enjoy the vibe.

The enduring mystery of what Michael Caine is thinking and feeling remains intact during his watchable, if somewhat exasperating docu-reminiscence of 1960s swinging London.
