An emotion-charged documentary...

Daily Express (UK)

The actual encounters with the former terrorists who called themselves Antonio and Camilla prove rather anti‑climactic.

My Kidnapper - charged, complex and always compelling - revisits the ruins and speaks to the ghosts.

Guardian

While this is undoubtedly a compelling story, it's also deeply and disconcertingly personal.

Radio Times

My Kidnapper is a documentary made with a few ideas and a few pennies. But its privileged viewpoint is spellbinding, just like its lush mountaintop views of Colombian jungle.

Financial Times

The horrendous experiences of the victims and the humble statements of the perpetrators speak for themselves, but Henderson's closeness to his subject (not to mention an emotionally manipulative Radiohead soundtrack) compromises the journalistic analysis.

Audience Reviews for My Kidnapper

Quite a tale. The director was a little hard on the kidnappers, yet not nearly hard enough. The Israelis who were kidnapped seem to have had some of the raw hatred that I would have had in the same situation, but the Europeans were much more wimpy. The story couldn't have not been compelling though.
