More thematically ambitious and less saccharine than the usual big screen nature docs that constitute the primary fare at museum venues, the film is educational enough to please adults while providing the "wow" factor necessary to impress youngsters.

I have one issue with 'Mysteries of the Unseen World.' It isn't long enough. Stunning in its images that reveal what we cannot see around us, this movie is so enthralling I wish it had at least one more hour added to its 50-minute running time.

Youngsters aren't likely to complain about Schwartzberg's computer effects or about the film's relative lack of teaching moments, and adults can't help but be amazed by these astonishing glimpses into alternate worlds.
