Movie Info

Hong Kong action specialist Wong Jing wrote the screenplay for the slam-bang Chiklo Dakgung (Naked Weapon). Madame M (Almen Wong) orchestrates the abduction of 40 different 13-year-old girls from around the world. She trains them as assassins, and in a few years, unleashes them on the world to do her bidding. The most potent of the group turn out to be gymnast Charlene Ching (Maggie Q), kickboxer Katt (Anya), and Jing (Jewel Lee). CIA agent Jack Chan (Daniel Wu) has stayed on the trail of the girls since their disappearance. When he finally catches up to Charlene, Jack is nearly done in by her alluring but deadly qualities.

This Hong Kong action movie is directed by Tony Ching Siu Tung and the screenplay is written by Wong Jing. The story is pretty lame: Madame M (Almen Wong) kidnaps 13-year-old girls from around the world, to train them on a deserted island as assassins. In seven years, they have to fight each other for the fittest one only to survive? but Madame M decides that the three of them deserve a contract: gymnast Charlene Ching (Maggie Q), kickboxer Katt (Anya), and Jing (Jewel Lee). Of course, there is always a CIA agent somewhere, this time is Jack Chan (Daniel Wu) who stayed on the trail of the girls since their disappearance? I would not waste too much time on the story, though. For acting, it is definitely B grade, except Maggie Q and Anya who were noticeable on the screen... directing is something which I got used watching Hong Kong movies - just good enough to be watchable! Camera work has some good shots in slow motion but most of the choreographed fighting scenes are useless posing not real fighting. Some of the scenes were so cheap that will insult your intelligence (let me know what do you think of the rape scene if you ever waste time watching this movie). I will recommend this only for people who are hooked on action movies with hot chicks and love some idiotic CIA agents who cannot drive or kill.

A good Asian "Girls with Guns" action thriller, however, acting needs to be improved

This is much better than it should be, the set up isnt convincing and cant buy, it, and the film takes itself way to seriously, although it is entertaining with great asian action and violence throughout.

What a godawfully hilarious film. Naked Weapon is a film where not one single person has been cast because of their acting abilities. The delivery of the stale dialogue is painful at times. Once you get past all the hot girls kicking arse, there's nothing else. Its ultimate sin is to take itself too seriously. The editing is a huge pile of gobshite. People dive through the air and just don't stop. Sometimes it seems like a spoof. One scene has two women diving over a sofa in slow motion, without it feeling like part of the fight. By the end the film just gives up, introducing a new antagonist, despite the obvious build up of the Madame M character. The final fight makes no sense, like a lot of the dialogue, as people balance on the heads of their opponents and spin round and around. Delightfully cheesy, and painfully bad in equal measure.
