Movie Info

Incredible as it seems, this early Herschel Gordon Lewis "nudie" actually has a plot. A pair of private eyes, one male, one female, are hired to locate a missing husband. They trace their man down to a nudist colony, where he insists that he'll give his marriage a second try if his wife will join him "el buffo" at the camp. Not only does wifey agree to shed her inhibitions-and everything else-but so do the detectives. Producer/director/writer Lewis considered Nature's Playmates an innovation because he showed a group of naked young ladies cavorting on a trampoline, rather than indulging in a clichéd game of volleyball. So close to the bone was the budget of Nature's Playmates that the film made back its cost in one theatre alone!
