Critic Reviews for The Nesting (Massacre Mansion)(Phobia)

Audience Reviews for The Nesting (Massacre Mansion)(Phobia)

The Nesting AKA Massacre Mansion is yet another of many haunted house horror films that came out in the early 80's. Unfortunately, this title went into obscurity, until recently where it was released on DVD. The Nesting is an effective horror film with genuine scary moments. The film is imperfect at times, but overall is a solid horror film that delivers the goods. Theres some fairly strong performances here from John Carradine and Gloria Grahame (her last film role) and though the film navigates somewhat into predictable territory, the film succeeds in being a cool little horror film. The story is interesting enough to please any horror fans, and the film is quite underrated.and if you love films in the style of The Changeling and The Amityville Horror, then check this one out. The film has its imperfections, but overall manages to be quite an interesting film, one that deserves to be rediscovered by old school horror fans. This is a pretty good haunted house film that can now be seen by a new breed of horror fans. The film has gotten a bad rep, and in my opinion is an underrated horror film. This is one lost gem that has unearth by the fine folks at Blue Underground. The Nesting is a must see obscure horror film that delivers effective jolts.
