Bollywood filmmaker B.R. Chopra directs the 1982 drama Nikaah (Marriage), based on a play by Achala Nagar. Salma Agha made her feature-film debut as a university-educated woman named Neelofar. Even though her college friend Haider (Raj Babbar) is in love with her, she decides to marry her cousin Waseem (Deepak Prashar). The marriage starts to crumble during the first year, leading to a major confrontation and subsequent divorce at their anniversary party. Neelofar starts over on her own, trying to work as a writer. She meets up with her old college friend Haider, who publishes her writing and offers her friendship. When she starts to develop feelings for him, Waseem comes back to beg for forgiveness. ~ Andrea LeVasseur, Rovi

The Origins of poetry is sadness
There is something I would like to clear up about this Movie: You dont have to be a Muslim to watch this Movie, it is not about Islam! This Movie is a message to all Men and Women around the World!
This is one of the sadest Movies about a Woman, who suffered in silence. One should see it to understand. Salma Agha`s first Movie and she sang the songs too. A very nice perfomance by Salma Agha. I really had to cry at the end.
