Movie Info

A man searching for a more meaningful life is at the same time drawn into a web of crime and decadence in this atmospheric Hungarian drama. Bruno (Ervin Nagy) lives in a rural community with his wife, Mari (Martina Kovacs), an accomplished gymnast. Bruno's career, however, is a good bit different than that of his wife; Mari's brother, Ringo (Roland Raba), is a small-time crook who has introduced Bruno to his world of petty theft and hustling johns for money, and Bruno has cultivated at least one steady customer as a male prostitute, a middle-aged husband (Imre Csuja) who looks to Bruno for both sex and emotional understanding. While Bruno is able to keep his exploits a secret from Mari, he finds himself unsure and unsettled about his double life, as Ringo leads him deeper into a world of clients with odd and sometimes dangerous appetites. Nincsen Nekem Sagyam Semmi received its American premier at the 2001 San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
