Movie Info

A beautiful young woman must shoulder the burdens of her family's misfortunes in this drama from Bangladesh. Tithi (Shabnoor) is the eldest daughter in a working class family living in Dhanka. Tragedy has visited the family as Tithi's father has gone blind due to a recent illness. Son Hiru is no help, as he's wasted much of the family's savings on high living and get-rich-quick schemes and refuses to get a job. With few options left to her, Tithi becomes a prostitute, using her good looks to help keep the family going. Tithi becomes a success in her field, the family is once again solvent and Hiru finally develops a sense of responsibility and opens a profitable business. Despite her family's new good fortune, Tithi must shut herself off emotionally in order to work and can no longer relate to those closest to her.
