Typical Crawford soaper is given a shot in the arm by a sprightly, wry performance by the great Edna May Oliver. Joan's clothes are up to her usual MGM amazing standard. Keep in mind the attitudes to excessive drinking are very much of the time, i.e. it's treated as humorous. Otherwise it's all stuff you've seen before.

Joan is beautiful, despite a series of unflattering hairdos, in this comedy/melodrama. It's always nice to have character actors such as Edna May Oliver and Gail Patrick show up.

This is the 38th of Joan's 81 movies for me.

Worth it alone for the ridiculous white bib dress that Crawfod dons to host a big 'surprise' party!

Standard early Crawford fare. The grandmother was the most interesting character. Nothing amazing, nothing disappointing. Completely average with a side of cool Grandma.

Not the greatest for any of the cast, but light and fun. And who doesn't love Edna May Oliver?

The story isn't great, but Franchot Tone, Robert Montgomery, and Joan Crawford more than make up for that. The three of them onscreen together is just priceless.
