Movie Info

This feature should not be confused with the far superior 1979 film directed by Werner Herzog. Klaus Kinski again plays the centuries old vampire Nosferatu. Father Don Alvise (Donald Pleasance) and vampire hunter Paris Catalano (Christopher Plummer) track down the blood sucking ghoul at the request of Helietta Canins (Barbara De Rossi). The highlight of this feature is the location shots of Venice.

Audience Reviews for Nosferatu a Venezia (Nosferatu in Venice) (Vampire in Venice)

½

A mess in how it flagrantly disregards established vampire lore and the proceedings of the first film and how it introduces characters and concepts only to just as quickly drop them. I understand this all stems from Kinski losing his shit and accosting cast and crew, but somehow (because of the aforementioned quirks?) the final product manages to be as interesting as Herzog's remake. Plus it benefits from Plummer and Pleasance's presence (scant as the latter's part may be) and sumptuous gothic Venetian settings.
