Nuremberg builds its case slowly with what's now a textbook recapitulation of Hitler's ascendancy. Nevertheless, the chronicle's beats (Reichstag fire, Sudetenland, Axis pact, etc.) still induce feelings of dread, grief, powerlessness, and loathing.
