The cartoon action will delight young children, while older ones, who usually reject animation as "kid stuff," will enjoy the rock songs and hip characters, especially the brash Tito.

A film packed with superb animation, songs and a nifty story line. And it's all set to a cadence of love, laced with some danger.

Though a little lacking in Disney's customary charm, still provides fine family entertainment.

In any case, the movie is enjoyable, if not especially memorable.

At just 74 minutes, Oliver and Company is one of the shortest full-length features from Disney, but there's a lot packed into it. While no one will ever mistake Oliver and Company for one of the Disney's golden oldies, it's still doggone entertaining.

Even as a cartoon poodle, Bette Midler stops the show.

Far from classic but it is interesting to watch for its take on the pre-Disnified New York landscape following the company's real estate foray into the iconic downtown core.

Animated Dickens makes for a surprisingly successful translation, and in my book Billy Joel can do very little wrong.
April 6, 2005
Cute but forgettable cartoon musical; a solid voice cast does a decent job.

"catchy songs, a cuddly hero, perfectly pleasant"
June 18, 2002
The film offers a fanciful, lush urban setting, unusual for Disney animated features, and a couple of good songs.
