Movie Info

This sequel to "A Christmas Story" follows a teenage Ralphie Parker (Jerry O'Connell) over summer break as he seeks gainful employment and struggles to survive a particularly harrowing Parker family road trip. Ralph's father (James B. Sikking) and mother (Dorothy Lyman) dish out life lessons galore as they lead Ralphie and his younger brother on the long drive to Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss, the shabby lakeside resort where they intend to spend their summer vacation.

  • The cast is fine, but the writing is filled with clichés and lazy, used observations. Does [Jean] Shepherd really think he is the first writer to make gags about pink flamingos in front yards?
