Movie Info

An Albanian immigrant hijacks a Greek passenger bus in hopes of gaining safe passage back to his home country in director Constantine Giannaris' tense account of the headline-making 1999 hostage situation that quickly spiraled into disaster. An armed Albanian man wanders onto a Greek bus, immediately overtaking the frightened passengers while issuing demands for money and safe passage back into Albania. In the subsequent twenty-hours, the tragic events that unfolded on that bus would serve to highlight the increasingly explosive relationship between Greece and its neighboring country Albania. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

  • His tough, vital feature about a hunky, young Albanian construction worker who holds up a bus after he's raped and tortured in a Greek prison by the powers-that-be has added resonance thanks to our own current travails in Iraq.

This was so incredibly depressing. It had lots of potential to be a great thriller but it just fell flat. Foreign films are almost always depressing. Here is one where we had to look away during THREE parts. Foreign films also show a little bit TOO much!!!
