Movie Info

On Dangerous Ground was based on Little Comrade, a novel by Burton E. Stevenson. Set in Germany in the early years of WWI, the plot closely resembled that of Vitagraph's My Official Wife -- even though that particular film was made in Germany. To escape detection, a spy known as "The Little Comrade" (Gail Kane) poses as the wife of American diplomat Bradford Stewart (Carlyle Blackwell). By the time true love blossoms, both hero and heroine are up to their armpits in danger and intrigue. A bit shaky plotwise, On Dangerous Ground made up for its flaws with its expert cinematography and convincing performances.
